Yoga is a form of workout that is related with meditation, breathing practices and impossible positioning of the body. Art of living is actually 5,000 years old. It is not of recent origin. But it has become the trend of life style only recently. In reality yoga is a good choice both for the body and mind.

With the stress today on health and fitness, we are re-evaluating how we stay fit. Some forms of yoga exercise need almost a good level of fitness to start. But the benefits of yoga can be derived by all ages and also at all levels of health and fitness.

Help answer the question about fitness yoga
Need recommendations for fitness equipment: yoga, pilates, stretching?I want to install a small home gym in a 9.5 x 11.5 room (8' ceiling) on my second floor. The purpose of this is two-fold: I need to lose weight, and I need to regain strength and flexibility.
I was thinking of installing a ballet bar or parallel bars and buying a new or used Total Gym (for pilates).
What do you all think? Anyone have experience with Total Gym? Any recommendations on an alternative piece of equipment?

I've had that problem too. Now I use a larger "cargo-style" bag so I know I'll always have room(my mat is a bit thicker that standard).

Okay! TMI
Okay, that's great.. for yoga, you can go with 20 to 30 minutes a day.. Remember, it is not about the number of hours, it is about your own consistency, and work..

yes its amazing! I doubted it at first too because I couldnt understand how a non-cardio exercise could really burn fat and help you lose weight, i thought it was more just a relaxation thing. I was completely wrong, without even leaving my yoga mat i was sweating like crazy by the time the class was over. To learn how to control your muscles and breathing does wonders for your body. this type of exercise is the kind that stays with you for a while too. when you run on a tredmil its great cardio and works tons of muscles but not long after you stop running your body will bounce back to its pudgey normal self. Yoga is an easy way to keep in shape ( not only being thin but also being toned!) and stay healthy and stress free! Nothing is better than feeling happy
I didn't know there were different types of yoga, i just go to my local gym and take yoga and palettes classes. and sometimes dance.
my results: sexy legs!! and much more relaxed.
Each yoga is practiced differently.
Vinyasa yoga is a flowing yoga in which you flow from one pose into another, timed with the breath, and you can really work up a sweat doing it. It's not done quickly, but is done with energy and engaging the muscles. you can burn a lot of calories doing Vinyasa yoga.
hatha yoga is a gentler yoga, and kundalini yoga is completely different still, although kundalini focuses more on the flexibility of the spine and will have many asanas and movements that can really get your heartrate up and again burn more calories.
I think that when it gets down to it, when speaking of yoga and fitness and health, it is best to focus on the style of yoga that you enjoy most, rather than on how many calories it burns. If you find you love a yoga practice in which you place yourself into a pose and hold it for several minutes, you will gain a lot more than just burning calories, and you can always burn your calories elsewhere, like on the treadmill or out for a nice walk or run.
Do yoga for it's benefits, don't worry so much about calorie burning!
Of course initially, you should opt for any assorted mat
Yes, it improves your posture, but, be aware, it is not the wii fit itself, it is your consistency, and curiosity to learn that will make your posture looks beautiful. I suggest you get this free yoga e-course also, it is very nice for you with many yoga poses associated to their physiological benefits: http://www.yoga-health-beauty-energy.com
