Many cities around the country have a kids fitness club where they can go for exercise. These clubs are beneficial for kids that have no exercise in their lives, or if they are having problems with their weight. There are so many benefits to having a child participate in a club of this type. The lack of fitness and exercise that they might be experiencing can result in an overweight child or even a child that has no energy at all. Besides proper exercise, a child needs a good diet, which can be just as hard to monitor.
Group Activities
The kids fitness club offers kids a chance to participate in group activities that are more to their liking. They can play soccer, volleyball, basketball, and other games. Although these games are a form of exercise, kids have fun and do not see it as exercise. Making kids think they are having fun is the easiest way to having healthy and fit children.
Training for Team Sports
The clubs offer performance training that kids need if they are going to try out for team sports. A child that has been sitting on the couch for years, and decides that he or she wants to participate in a team sport will have a problem. Their bodies are not conditioned to perform the moves needed to play. Their muscles need training and conditioning before jumping into the game. At a kids fitness club, they will receive all the training they need to condition the body and prepare it for the team sports program they choose.
Fitness Training
Fitness training is another benefit of the kids fitness club. Whether it is strength training or a cardio workout, kids need to have a fitness routine to stay healthy. There are even yoga classes for kids to participate in. Staying fit is not hard work, but it is something that must be done every day. Whether it is at a club or at home, kids need more to do that moves the body and gets the blood circulating.
First Things First
Kids that have little to know exercise or body movement should start out slow. Yes, kids are resilient, but even the healthiest child cannot start doing strenuous activities if the body is not used to it. The kids fitness club can be very useful for families with children who need to find alternatives to video games and television. However, jumping off the couch and running around a soccer field without any prior exercise or warm ups can result in some painful muscles and possible health problems.
The kids fitness club is a place for children to learn how to exercise, warm up before playing team sports, and for little ones that need some fun games to play with others. They will have a place to exercise and have fun doing it. The clubs also have a pre-school program, which means that you can start your kids out when they are young. This is the best time to start learning about fitness and staying active.

to check out the guys
and act like they r cool cuz they r "working out"
If you are a male Wear a common fitness clothe like jogging pants and a fit shirt and match with sun glasses like this one http://www.sunglassesuk.com/c1/celebrity_sunglasses/alex_curran_2_sunglasses.asp if you're a female wear also jogging pants and a boxer shirt. About being a fun and active it's up to you just show it and let them feel that you're happy to be with.
Price is usually the most important thing to decide on. They can be very expensive and even the most basic ones will probably have all the equiptment you need so you're never getting much more for the extra cost.
Proximity and being able to get there easily is also important. You're much more likely to keep it up if it doesn't take you a massive effort before you've even started your workout!
Atmosphere is another thing factor. Friendly staff and clients can make a real difference to your motivation to keep going. Some fitness clubs can be a bit snooty or competative so I try to avoid those ones!
Finally, look at the machines that they're offering. Do they look like things you'd want to make use of? Most will have the basic weight and cardio machines but if there's anything specific you had in mind such as a swimming pool then look out for that.
Good luck with it. X
Hey,
I work for LA fitness, therefore can give you a quick recap of them all.
LA fitness varies and usually we get specials coming in. There should be a special on Monday, since it's our closing so we get good prices at that time.
not contract. mnth to mnth. usually around 70+ down with first and last month and monthly billing of 19.99, 29.99 and others.
Bally's usually works based on contract. 3-5 year contracts. Also, if anything I wouldnt go with them since the filed prop 11, which means most of the clubs will shut down sooner than later. we get a lot of ppl from bally come to us cause they know, they'll be gone soon enough.
24 hour has pretty much similar rates to LA fitness.
also they get specials every now and then, but their prices are just as similar.
since I work for LAF I have a free membership, however I would probably get a membership on 24 sinc ethey are open 24 hours!
I like working out late at night, but if that not an issue with you then LAF works as well.
Other then that, I'd go with the club with nearest location to me.
Depends more on your club mentality and location, like, in the city you would have an indoor area and need to focus on working week fitness but maybe not so much of weekend attendance, so try a name that combines the "Ladder Climber" mentality with the weekend lack of business and probably no reason to even open.
So, if your location is in a populus business area and your clientelle are cashed up, age below 45, predominately single, then go for something like "Broken Limits" or maybe "No Limits"
If your location produces a clientelle of a more cautious nature then maybe something like "Crash or Burn", of course the reference to Crash is -do nothing, and the reference to Burn is – Exercise.
Hope you get many more ideas. (Rod from OZ)
Sorry to say you have better chance of winning the lottery then getting out of a contract with Ballys. They will hunt you down like a dog to collect their money. Good luck and let me know how it goes for you.
You can get a family package that includes your parents, you only have to be like 13? but they have to be there to supervise.
Or 16-17 with parents permission
18+ and your fine.
do you have a ymca? they have great equipment, free workout classes, swimming pools, training programs. and a sliding scale fee. you may get a discount depending on your income. i pay like $18 a month and it covers access to all that stuff!
could be a few… Barbara Ellen Fitness Salons were big in the 70's so was Spa Lady.
