Getting a life style of health & fitness

Being healthy & fit are topics that are in many folks mouths. What is the latest fad diet? Will it work? Where can we go for exercising? Are there workouts that promise weight loss. These are only some of the questions that individuals keep wanting to know the answers to these days.

But even if it is the trend nowadays, just a couple of essentially stick to a healthy lifestyle. Most people will still devour crap & will still pile up their plates with fats & carbohydrates. Most would rather sit on the couch & watch Television than work out at the gymnasium or do a little bit of jogging. Bad habits, of course, die hard. But beginning a healthy lifestyle is not really as impossible as you believe it is. In reality, with commitment & discipline, you can start heading down the way to health & fitness. It is going to be hard but try and imagine the rewards that you are going to get in return.

People that live healthy lifestyle will get to enjoy a lot more on their lives, not only in terms of getting to one hundred years old but in enjoying each moment of your life because you are in good health. constantly individuals who eat the proper food will be better in performing their jobs at the office & are more able to get developments in their {career|jobs|careeropportunities. These guys do not take leaves of absence & when they do, they employ to have fun & chill & not to recover from an illness.

Folk who eat healthy & visit the gym will also have awesome bodies & are more physically attractive. They are more likely to have improved sex life & more romantic involvements, which in turn can make them more satisfied with their life. These things are chained eventualities. Start in a positive light & you might finish up with a positive light too.

But regardless of the numerous benefits that you get from having a healthful way of life, why do individuals still stick to their old habits. One of the reasons is naturally the reluctance. In fact, who would want to quit something you like taking part in or consuming? Most people may be prepared to part strategies with what they have been used to taking part in. Just imagine announcing bye to a comfort food or a hobby that makes you chuffed, will you do it?

Other reasons are probably the difficulty. Most people attempt to alter their strategies for different reasons, for example health problems, relationship woes, even financial but almost all of the time they don’t see their plans thru. They’re going to try for a week & perhaps continue for two weeks & then resume to their old habits after some time. They don’t go on with their plans. One of the main reasons why is the absence of need. To be successful in quitting your old habit, you need it tough enough. You want it bad enough. You need to make sure that each enticement will not serve as enticement. Sometimes, will power is not enough for this. You also need the help of the members around you. This is why a large amount of the programs now that are made to help folks change have a health network of support system which may advice their health and fitness members.

Help answer the question about health fitness

Does anyone know of any good health/fitness trivia questions?
For school, I need to come in with 5 questions. We are running a program called trick-or-treat street and we are having a trivia game. Please understand that these questions I bring in will be asked to 1st graders – 6th graders. They NEED to be on health and/or fitness. For example one I have already come up with is: Is a tomato a fruit or a vegetable? Fruit

Sounds like what my life used to be. Honestly, I only got motivated when I entered a biggest loser contest for $1,200 and I love money and love to win. I have the same working schedule along with two kids, one who is a newborn and one who is special needs. I also have a crazy rottweiler puppy. My husband works most of the time, so I have my hands full!

Eating healthy is not as expensive as you think. Planning is very important. Give yourself a day at least to go grocery shopping. Stock up on frozen health dinners and fruits and veggies for a quick fix meal. Buy whole grains and high fiber foods as well. If you don't have time in the morning (I still snooze through breakfast) than buy cereal bars, such as Kashi, or yogurt snacks. Eat lots of fruits and veggies throughout the day. No preparation needed for most!

When I get home, I just want to sleep, but I have to take care of my family, so I just immediately get to cooking before I end up not doing it. Once it's done, it didn't seem like such a hassle.

I like fast food too but you could just as easily have gotten a grilled chicken sandwich, a sub sandwich, a veggie burger, etc. (I only eat the veggies and mustard: no cheese, no other dressings except for vinegar at Subway), along with Diet Soda or water. Sides are tempting because they're practically free with a value meal, but would you rather waste 30 cents or get fat? If you can't get a healthy side, like a salad or apples, skip the sides.

I had all the same problems and finally am doing good. Good luck to you!

Driving a car is the single most dangerous thing that the average American can do on a day to day basis. 118 people die in car wrecks in America every day. Even if that's not a big concern, think about the stress of driving and the amount of negativity it releases in a person. One doesn't look at the Lexus in front of them and think anything except "I wish this &$#@ Lexus would cease to exist."

I think riding a train to work is the best possible experience. Even if you don't talk to anyone else, at least you're surrounded by other people and not machines. I notice that even in a crowded train that I can't sit down in, I'm happier than sitting in the comfort of my own car with my stereo blasting.

The suburbs do offer something that one can't get in the city: Space and quiet. Some people like having a pool, yard and garden. It's how I live, but I want a place in the city.

You need to keep working out! Put Law and Order on your ipod and watch it on the treadmill. You're already stressing out, so stopping the workouts is just gonna add to your unhealthiness.

Improper Bostonian writes: "If you want to ONCE AND FOR ALL learn about this healthcare, read about how it was mandated in MA. by Mitt Romney. It's based off the same plan we have here and sorry, all that you say is untrue and plain old fear mongering."

Fine, lets read all about it:

Mandatory Health Insurance: Wrong for Massachusetts, Wrong for America

    The Results in Massachusetts

Although advocates of the Massachusetts plan claimed that it would lower health care costs and achieve universal coverage, it has done neither. Instead, the plan has increased costs for individuals and the state, reduced revenues for doctors and hospitals, and left Massachusetts officials in the awkward position of having to admit that their “universal coverage is not likely to be universal any time soon.”14

Costs have risen for individuals because, under this plan, as under any mandatory insurance scheme, the government must define what constitutes an acceptable insurance policy. As a result, special interest groups have been given both the incentive and the means to lobby politicians to include their pet benefits as part of the government-approved plan. Consequently, the state government requires all patients to purchase “benefits” that are useless to many of them—benefits they would never voluntarily choose to purchase in a free market. For example, Massachusetts currently requires insurance plans to include forty-three mandatory benefits, including in vitro fertilization, blood lead poisoning treatment, and chiropractor services—whether or not customers want them. Residents must purchase alcoholism therapy benefits, even if they are teetotalers. These mandated benefits have raised the costs of health insurance in Massachusetts by 23 to 56 percent.15

Costs to the state government have skyrocketed and are projected to run hundreds of millions of dollars over budget.16 Because the mandated insurance is so expensive, the government has had to subsidize the costs of the premiums not only for lower-income residents, but also for residents with incomes as high as $60,000 for a family of four—which is three times the Federal Poverty Level.17 The state had expected a “significant drop in spending . . . for the uninsured” but has since acknowledged that this “is not going to happen to any large extent in 2009.”18 Instead, overall costs to the state have risen by more than $400 million, 85 percent more than originally projected.19

Because of its own rising costs, the state government has cut payments to doctors and hospitals. According to family physician Dr. Katherine Atkinson, the state insurance reimbursements often do not cover her expenses: “[E]very time I have a Medicaid patient it’s like handing them a $20 bill when they leave.”20

As a result of these rising costs and falling revenues, access to medical care has dwindled for many patients. Fewer doctors are willing to take on new patients for fear of losing even more money. Lee Sampson, a 47-year old medical transcriptionist, had to call fifty doctors’ offices before she could find one that would take her as a new patient.21 Tamar Lewis, a 24-year old hair stylist, called more than two dozen primary care doctors for a checkup. All of them turned her down, leaving her with no choice but to rely on the community free clinic.22 Patients face long waits for basic medical care—in some cases more than a year for a routine physical exam.23 These long waits are not due to a shortage of doctors. As the New England Journal of Medicine notes, Massachusetts “has the highest physician-to-population ratio of any state, in primary care as well as overall.”24 The waits are due to a government policy that discourages physicians from seeing patients—a policy under which seeing patients can mean that physicians lose rather than make money.

U.S. Cancer Care Is Number One

The data show that cancer patients live longer in the United States than anywhere else on the globe.

These figures reflect the care available to all Americans, not just those with private health coverage. Great Britain, known for its 50-year-old government-run, universal health care system, fares worse than the European average: British men have a five-year survival rate of only 45 percent; women, only 53 percent.

It’s great that you exercise and eat so healthy, which is obviously something we all need to do but, if you are 5′5 and weight 100 lbs you are wayyyyyy under what you should weigh. For someone who is 5 ft or under, 100 lbs would be more healthy. But..I’m glad you are healthy anyway.

You have to have medical treatment, and THEN you need to change your eating habits. My father-in-law just died in March from a massive heart attack, because even after having several surgeries, and having a pacemaker put in he still kept eating the way he did before. Protect your health at all costs. Think before you put that chip in your mouth about how it will affect your heart!

    I am a nurse. Since 1993.
Who is going to pay the healthcare workers under this universal plan?
I do not have insurance, as I am a healthy non-smoker I can not afford it. So, I too would like to see some reform or greed control but free healthcare? NO way.
But, if you all think for one minute healthcare workers will work for less than we are now, dream on. The shortage is there now, just wait to see who will be your healthcare givers if this happens. Practice prayer, it may be your only medicine!
